Grammy-Winner Tems Touches Down in Nairobi for Blankets & Wine Headline Debut
Nairobi — Nigerian songstress Temilade “Tems” Openiyi has arrived in Nairobi to headline the 2025 edition of Blankets & Wine, marking her first major performance in Kenya at the famous outdoor festival.
Arriving on Saturday, Tems landed in the Kenyan capital as thousands of fans and festivalgoers eagerly awaited her set at Laureate Gardens, Kasarani.
Blankets & Wine, running since 2008 and founded by Muthoni the Drummer Queen, is well known for blending Afrobeats, R&B and East African music in a family-friendly, picnic style environment.
Other artists on the 2025 lineup include Ugandan singer Joshua Baraka and Kenyan artist Chimano, promising a rich mix of sounds and performances.
Organisers say the event draws music lovers from all over, and this year’s edition is expected to be one of the biggest — with Tems’ presence raising excitement even further.
For fans in Nigeria and across Africa, Tems’ arrival in Nairobi is more than just a show — it’s a statement that African artistes are bridging borders, creating unity through music, and bringing their best to every stage they touch.
