Lagos Teachers Conference Aims for World Record with Peter Obi

Tens of thousands of educators gathered at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, for the Let There Be Teachers Conference 2025, which sought to set a Guinness World Record for the largest assembly of teachers.

Among the high-profile attendees was Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, who called for greater investment in education and improved teacher welfare to address Nigeria’s systemic challenges in the sector.

The conference featured speeches, workshops, and reform discussions, following a preparatory “Walk for Teachers” march held earlier in the week.
