JAMB Lists 23 Universities Yet to Upload Post-UTME Scores of Under-Age Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has flagged 23 universities for failing to submit the Post-UTME screening scores of under-age candidates who wrote the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

According to JAMB, the affected institutions missed the 15th September deadline, despite repeated reminders. Out of the 71 universities selected by under-age candidates, only 48 complied, leaving 135 candidates’ admission processing on hold.

JAMB explained that the late release of NECO’s SSCE results after the deadline made it necessary to extend the timeline for these candidates’ assessment. While the Board confirmed that the final date for the under-age screening has been adjusted, it did not disclose the new date.

Defaulting Universities

Some of the universities that failed to upload results include

  • University of Lagos – 39 candidates
  • Federal University of Technology, Owerri – 8 candidates
  • University of Uyo – 9 candidates
  • Nile University of Nigeria, Abuja – 18 candidates
  • Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka – 15 candidates
  • University of Abuja – 12 candidates
  • University of Calabar – 6 candidates
  • Lagos State University – 5 candidates

Others include Bingham University, Lead City University, McPherson University, Abia State University, Bayelsa Medical University, and Modibbo Adama University, among others.

JAMB Issues Reminder on Admission Deadlines

The Board also reminded institutions of the deadlines for uploading recommended candidates on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS):

Public universities – 30th September 2025

Private universities – 31st October 2025

Final admission deadlines remain 30th October for public universities and 30th November for private universities.

JAMB’s Age Policy

JAMB upholds 16 years as the minimum age for university admission but allows exceptions for exceptionally gifted under-16 candidates. Such candidates undergo a multi-stage screening process, including UTME, Post-UTME, strong SSCE results, and final assessment by a national screening committee.

👉 Bottom line: JAMB is urging the 23 universities to urgently upload their Post-UTME scores to avoid further delays in the admission process for the affected under-age candidates.
