Tinubu: Nigerians’ Hardship Like Surgery, but Prosperity Lies Ahead

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the current economic hardship will soon give way to growth and prosperity, likening their sacrifices to “the pain of a painful surgery” that ultimately leads to healing.

Speaking on Friday at the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, the President thanked citizens for their patience and resilience since he assumed office.

“Thanks for taking care of me,” Tinubu told the Ibadan crowd. “I’m here today to tell you to stand with me. It is my turn, and together we are there. I am honoured and proud to bring you the cheering news that the economy has turned the corner. There is now a bright light at the end of the tunnel. Your suffering, though painful like surgery, has now given way to growth, and prosperity awaits us ahead.”

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, earlier presented the Staff of Office to Oba Rashidi Ladoja, formally crowning him the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
