Virtual Assistant Job Turns Out to Be N^de Chat Work

A Nigerian lady has narrated how her excitement about landing a virtual assistant job quickly turned into shock after discovering the real nature of the work.

She explained that she had been job hunting when she saw a post on TikTok about chatting with clients for pay. Believing it was a standard remote gig, she applied, passed the first stage, and even set up her workspace for the supposed interview.

But things took a disturbing turn. Sharing her ordeal on Facebook, she wrote:

“The interviewer: Angie, why are you dressed?
Me: How Sir? (I was so confused at this point)
The Lady: You should know this thing already. Remove your top so we can start the interview.
Me: I thought it was a chat task, why do I need to undress?
Interviewer: I don’t think you are ready to work. You’re wasting my time.”

Naija Angle:
With unemployment still biting hard, many desperate job seekers are falling prey to shady recruiters masking adult content jobs as legit remote work. This incident is a sharp reminder for young Nigerians to double-check opportunities before applying, especially those found on TikTok, Facebook, or WhatsApp groups where scams thrive.
